The re-release of Happy 4K has become a huge success in Kerala and once again proved why Allu Arjun is lovingly called "Mallu Arjun" by fans in the state. The 2006 romantic action comedy returned to theatres in a newly remastered 4K version and received an outstanding response from audiences.

While many recent Telugu releases struggled at the Kerala box office, Happy 4K surprised everyone with its strong collections. Reports suggest that even big Telugu films like Ram Charan's Peddi and Prabhas' The RajaSaab could not cross the ₹1 crore mark in Kerala. However, Happy 4K, a re-release of a 20-year-old film, achieved that milestone in just four days.

The film collected around ₹95.5 lakh gross in its first three days. The collection breakdown is impressive. On day 1, it is ₹35 lakh (including premieres). On day 2, it is ₹28 lakh and on day 3, it is ₹32.5 lakh.

With strong advance bookings for Day 4, the film crossed the ₹1 crore mark in Kerala. What makes this achievement even more special is that the collections came from the pure Malayalam version of the film.

According to trade reports, Happy 4K also recorded the highest opening for any Telugu film in Kerala during 2026. Tracked Day 1 collections were reportedly higher than those of Peddi and The RajaSaab. This remarkable performance highlights Allu Arjun's unmatched popularity among Kerala audiences.

Fans celebrated the re-release across theatres in Kochi, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, and other cities. Videos shared on social media showed packed theatres, loud cheers, and a festive atmosphere. Many fans said they grew up watching films like Happy, which explains Allu Arjun's special connection with Kerala viewers.

Originally released in 2006 and directed by A. Karunakaran, Happy starred Allu Arjun and Genelia in the lead roles. The film has remained a fan favourite over the years.
