Hyderabad witnessed a sad day for the Allu family as a great loss struck their home. Popular producer Allu Aravind’s mother, Kanakaratnam, passed away at the age of 94. She was the wife of legendary actor Allu Ramalingaiah and grandmother of superstar Allu Arjun.


According to family sources, Kanakaratnam had been suffering from health issues for some time. In the early hours of Saturday, she breathed her last at their Hyderabad residence. The family announced that the last rites will be held this afternoon at Kokapet.

Allu Arjun, who is currently busy in Mumbai working on a film directed by Atlee, immediately rushed back to Hyderabad after hearing the news. Reports say that he will reach the city by morning to attend the funeral.
