Actress and television host Anasuya Bharadwaj recently shared a long and thoughtful message on Instagram that has attracted attention from her followers. Through a series of text slides, she spoke about cinema, creative freedom, social responsibility, and the influence of storytelling on society.

In her post, Anasuya said that cinema has always reflected society. However, she believes films should not carry the entire responsibility of educating people or raising society. According to her, movies are works of fiction, and individuals also have a responsibility to understand the difference between right and wrong. She added that parenting and moral education should not happen only through films.

At the same time, Anasuya acknowledged that cinema is powerful and has a strong impact on people. She noted that films influence conversations, shape perceptions, and sometimes even inspire behavior. Because of this influence, she feels storytellers should be conscious of the messages they present.

The actress explained that modern storytelling has become more complex. Earlier, heroes and villains were clearly defined, but today many characters are layered and morally grey. Because of this, she believes the line between portrayal and glorification can sometimes become unclear.

Anasuya also clarified that when she raises concerns about such topics, she is not supporting censorship or moral policing. Instead, she is encouraging awareness and thoughtful discussions. She stressed that writers, directors, producers, actors, and audiences all play a role in understanding the impact of stories.

In another part of her message, Anasuya reflected on her own journey. She said her opinions may have created challenges in her career, but she has always stood by her beliefs. She emphasized that creative freedom is important, but responsibility should exist alongside that freedom.

The actress concluded by saying that society should not expect films to act as parents, but it should also not ignore the influence that cinema has. She called for creators and audiences to become more socially conscious and responsible in the way they create, consume, and promote content.

Sharing the post, Anasuya wrote, “It’s a bit lengthy, but I hope I communicated well enough.” She also requested followers to read the complete message before judging it and ended the post with the hashtag “We Are All In This Together.”
