“It’s My Body, Not Yours”, Says Former Anchor Anasuya

Former anchor and actress, Anasuya Bharadwaj, who is vocal about issues related to women, s*xism and male chauvnism, has once again spoken out loudly. This time, she hasn’t taken names, but has severely condemned the comments made by actor Shivaji regarding the dressing sense of heroines at events.

“Interesting how some people confuse control with concern and judgment with 'protection'. A woman's clothing is a personal choice.. it isn't directed at anyone and it harms no one. What is as a matter of fact and concern directed at someone.. are the comments, looks, and unsolicited opinions.. Those have impact”, said Anasuya, as he condemned the comments.

“Turning insecurity into moral policing doesn't make it manly or protective.. it just makes it controlling. Respect doesn't require supervision. Controlling others is a weakness disguised as strength. Respect is real power”, she further wrote on her Instagram post. At the same time, after attending an event, Anasuya once again reiterated the same comments through her sayings.

On the other hand, many celebrities are ganging up to condemn the words of Shivaji, though they are not directly using his name. While Chinmayi has openly criticised him, the likes of Navdeep have put up tweets that they don’t agree with.
