Anaya Bangar Shares Her Journey After Gender-Affirming Surgery

Anaya Bangar, the daughter of former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar, recently shared an emotional message after undergoing gender-affirming surgery in Thailand. She posted a heartfelt note on social media along with a photo of herself and her father at the hospital.

In her message, Anaya said that her journey was not easy. She explained that it was difficult not only for her but also for her family. There were times of confusion, many questions, and a lot of emotional moments. However, she also said that this journey helped everyone grow and understand each other better.

Anaya especially thanked her father, Sanjay Bangar, for standing by her side during this important phase of her life. She shared that his support did not come immediately, but over time, it became strong and unconditional. She said having her father with her during the surgery meant everything to her.

She described the surgery as a major step in her life. It made her feel closer to her true identity. Anaya also shared an important message, saying that growth and love take time, but they are always worth the wait.

Before her transition, Anaya was known as Aryan Bangar. She was also a cricketer and followed her father’s path in sports. She played for Mumbai at the Under-16 level and later represented Pondicherry in Under-19 matches. She also attended trials for Mumbai’s Under-23 team.

During her cricket career, she played alongside talented players like Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who are now well-known names in Indian cricket.

Anaya has spoken earlier about how she felt different from a young age. She shared that even as a child, she felt more comfortable identifying as a girl.
