Anil Ravipudi’s Ramayana: Deets Inside

Director Anil Ravipudi is currently busy with the shooting of his next project, which features Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram as the leads, and hits cinemas on the eve of Sankranthi 2027. However, that’s not the only thing, as the director is said to have wrapped up some good work on another project too. That’s none other than an animated version of the Ramayana. Here go the deets.

In recent times, with the advent of AI, making animated movies has become a little easier for Indian animation companies too. After the success of Mahavatar Narasimha, many talented directors like Chandoo Mondeti from the South focused on such movies also. Now, for his version of Ramayana, Anil Ravipudi is said to have recorded how each character should act and gave those videos as a reference to the animators. That’s a good gesture, but then, animated films have the tendency to look odd if the characters are animated like humans without any exaggerations.

On the other hand, some film enthusiasts feel that Anil Ravipudi has picked the wrong and easy script for animation movie. Rather than picking up the Ramayana story again, a director like Anil Ravipudi should have come up with a new story, new characters and ideas that would have worked out magic like Kungfu Panda and other movies.
