Legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s comeback film Sing Geetham is receiving a positive response from audiences. The film has been growing steadily at the box office, and many people are appreciating its unique story and emotional content.
At a recent event, successful director Anil Ravipudi shared an interesting story about the film and how it struggled to find support in its early stages.
Anil Ravipudi revealed that Singeetham Srinivasa Rao had narrated this story to him nearly eight years ago. According to Anil, the veteran filmmaker was very passionate about the project and wanted to take it forward.
Anil recalled Singeetham telling him, “If you know any producers, please tell them about this story. We need to move this project forward.”
After hearing the story, Anil was impressed by the idea and tried to help. He spoke to a few producers he knew and explained the project to them. However, none of them were ready to take the risk at that time. Anil said that even he did not have enough money in those days to support the project personally. Still, he sincerely hoped that someone would come forward and stand behind Singeetham’s wonderful idea.
Now, after many years, the film has finally reached theatres by Nag Ashwin and is receiving appreciation from movie lovers. The journey of the project has become an inspiring example of patience and determination.
Meanwhile, Sing Geetham is also showing impressive growth at the box office. After a decent opening, the film witnessed a strong jump in collections during the weekend. Positive word-of-mouth and good reviews have encouraged more people to watch the movie.
The film collected around Rs 1 crore net on its second day, a significant increase from its opening-day collection of Rs 54 lakh. Multiplexes and A-centres have contributed strongly to this growth, with occupancy levels improving across several cities.
The film is also performing well overseas. In the United States, Sing Geetham crossed the $50K mark within just two days indicating encouraging support from international audiences.
