Ace producer Anil Sunkara, who owns the production house 14 Reels that produced blockbusters like Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu, is now hitting cinemas with Naari Naari Naduma Murari as a Sankranthi treat. As this Sharwanand starrer is hitting the market, the producer once again spoke about his 2023 disaster, Akhil’s Agent, directed by Surender Reddy.

In an unusually candid move, producer Anil Sunkara openly addressed the commercial failure of Agent, the big-budget spy thriller starring Akhil. Remarking that they rushed to the project without a bound script, he stated that they should have stopped the film after watching rushes from the Budapest (Hungary) schedule. “Many advised me to stop the film after looking at the Budapest rushes. I should have done that, so that we would have been happy now. But I’ve gone ahead, and that affected us financially big time,” said Anil Sunkara.

Made with a whopping ₹80 crores budget, the film is said to have caused more than 50% losses to the producers. Even the OTT release of the movie got hugely delayed, leading to further financial crunch as the payouts got altered due to the poor box office performance of the movie. Agent-related debts keep affecting Anil Sunkara, as the producer got legal notices during the Bholaa Shankar release, stating that the loans should be cleared first.

Anil Sunkara’s latest movie, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, featuring Sharwanand, Samyuktha Menon, and Sakshi Vaidya in the leads, is hitting cinemas on January 14th.
