Annapurna Studios Brings Dulquer, Karthi and More Films to Telugu Audiences

Annapurna Studios is growing its presence in the Telugu film distribution business. The studio is now focusing on bringing interesting and different films from various Indian languages to audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Over the past few months, Annapurna Studios has added several films from different industries to its distribution portfolio. The studio has supported Malayalam films such as Eko and Balan: The Boy. It also distributed the Tamil film Karuppu, starring Suriya, which was released in Telugu as Veerabhadrudu. Akkineni Akhil’s Lenin is another film connected with its distribution plans.

The studio has an interesting list of films planned for September. Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game is one of the major films in the line-up. Karthi’s Sardar 2 is also part of the September releases. Along with these films, EPIC - First Semester will also reach audiences through Annapurna Studios’ distribution network.

Another important film in the September list is Ramba Oorvasi Menaka. Annapurna Studios is associated with this movie not only as a distributor but also as a production partner.

Supriya Yarlagadda, Executive Director of Annapurna Studios, said that Telugu audiences have always shown great interest in good cinema, no matter which language a film belongs to. She explained that the studio wants to select movies based on their content and give audiences an opportunity to experience them in theatres.

According to her, the distribution initiative is also aimed at creating a better and more transparent system for film distribution. The studio wants to work towards a sustainable model that can benefit both filmmakers and the theatrical business.

Annapurna Studios is also looking at bringing back a commission-based distribution model. This approach can provide more theatrical opportunities for films that depend on strong stories and content.
