Nizam: Meet The New Bit Player In The Market?
Annapurna Studios, one of the leading film production and distribution companies in Telugu cinema, is expanding its distribution operations to the Nizam region.;
For a long time now, the Nizam market was almost entirely dictated by Dil Raju. This was followed by a recent establishment of the Mythri Movie Makers office in the region. And now it appears that another big player is entering the scene, and it is led by Annapurna Studios.
Annapurna Studios, one of the leading film production and distribution companies in Telugu cinema, is expanding its distribution operations to the Nizam region.
In collaboration with their distribution head, Sai Baba, the studio is establishing a new distribution office in Nizam, marking a strategic step to strengthen its regional reach. The first release through this office will be Sithara’s highly anticipated film Funky.
The new Nizam office will primarily handle Annapurna movie releases on an advance basis, ensuring smooth and timely distribution across the region. However, some of Sithara’s upcoming films may still be offered to other distributors if NRA (Nizam Rights Association) deals prove more lucrative.
This flexible approach allows Annapurna to maximize revenue while consolidating its presence in the Nizam market.
If the venture succeeds, it is expected that three to four other production banners could collaborate with Annapurna in this new initiative, potentially creating a stronger distribution network in the region.
Annapurna Studios has already established its footprint in Vizag and has prior experience distributing films in Nizam, including the 2019 release Mathu Vadhalara. With this expansion, the studio aims to further enhance its reach, ensure efficient film distribution, and strengthen its ties with local distributors and audiences in Nizam.
