Suspect in Salman Khan Firing Incident Dies by Suicide in Custody

The Mumbai Police confirmed the news, stating that Thapan was rushed to Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital but declared dead by medical professionals.

Anuj Thapan, one of the suspects arrested in connection with the April 14th shooting incident outside Salman Khan's Bandra residence, reportedly committed suicide while in police custody. The Mumbai Police confirmed the news, stating that Thapan was rushed to Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital but declared dead by medical professionals.

This incident follows the application of the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the accused. According to reports, four individuals were charged: Vicky Gupta (24), Sagar Pal (21), Sonu Kumar Chander Bishnoi (37), and Anuj Thapan (32). They were accused of supplying firearms and ammunition to gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who remain at large.

The investigation led to the arrest of Gupta and Pal, residents of Bihar, from Kutch, Gujarat, on April 16th. Sonu Bishnoi and Thapan were subsequently apprehended in Punjab on April 25th. While Anmol Bishnoi, reportedly residing in Canada with visits to the USA, claimed responsibility for the attack on Facebook, authorities traced the IP address to Portugal. His brother, Lawrence Bishnoi, is currently incarcerated in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat, facing multiple criminal charges.
