It is an established fact that the social media is a very unforgiving place and any sort of antisocial behaviour can lead to severe consequences here. The same is being understood by social media influencer Apoorva Makhija.

Apoorva Makhija, popularly known as �The Rebel Kid,� faced severe backlash after a controversial episode of India�s Got Latent in February 2025.

During the show, panellists, including Apoorva and Ranveer Allahbadia, made sexualized remarks, including an infamous �parents s*x� comment, which quickly went viral and sparked widespread outrage. In response, YouTuber Samay Raina took down all episodes of the show from YouTube on February 12, 2025.

The controversy led to legal actions, with FIRs registered in Mumbai and Guwahati. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell recorded statements from the involved parties, and the National Commission for Women summoned the panellists for questioning.

Since the incident, Apoorva has received multiple online death, rape, and sexual assault threats. The pressure extended to her personal life as well; following repeated police visits, her landlord evicted her, citing discriminatory rules against single women.

Professionally, Apoorva�s career has also taken a hit. She was removed from several professional commitments, including being dropped by IIFA promoters. It appears that this one particular episode has started to have the ripple effect on the career of this influencer, and she might find it hard to make a comeback now.
