What Did Chikri Do To AR Rahman?

One of the superhit chartbusters coming from AR Rahman in recent days is none other than the Chikri Chikri song from the Peddi movie. While the song is a superhit and it helped the Ram Charan star, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, get huge fame all over the nation, the Oscar-winning composer explains what the song did to his career. He says, “I’ve got new fans with this”.

“The previous generation or the youths mostly know me by songs from films like Rockstar or Tamasha. Whenever some of these people in their 20s meet me, they talk only about those films. But I don’t know how or in what way my music will reach the youngest generation of the country. But recently I’ve met a youngster and asked him if he knows my songs. He said yes. When I asked further, instead of saying Rockstar or something, he said Chikri. That means my music now has reached a new generation altogether,” said Rahman, thanking Buchi Babu Sana for giving him that opportunity to score Chikri.

On the other hand, AR Rahman also felt happy for doing his first-ever Telugu film this way, as he had been waiting for decades to bag the right Telugu film to deliver songs. Finally, he liked Peddi and how the film has turned out is very stunning, the composer added. Even the other song Rai Rai Ra Ra from the movie, has gone viral, and Rahman is confident that people will like his work more when the film hits cinemas on June 4th.
