Update: 2021-07-11 10:22 GMT
When the makers are busy making deals with the OTT platforms of their films, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce had urged the producers to not release the films in OTTs saying that the theatre owners will get affected by this. The Film Chamber said, till October, the films should not go for the OTT release.

The Chamber said they have to take strict action against the producers who will release their films on OTT platforms before October. This has created a lot of confusion on the release of big films like Venkatesh starrer Narappa and others.

Suresh Productions owner Suresh Babu who earlier defended the move to go for the OTT release hasn't confirmed whether Narappa will take the OTT route or go the traditional theatre way.

However, Amazon Prime TV has started promoting Narappa through the ads. One such ad confirms that Narappa will be streamed on Amazon very soon. Prime Video's advertisement had cleared a lot of doubts on Narappa release.

Though there is no announcement from Amazon Prime Video on the release date, media reports are abuzz that Narappa is likely to be streamed from the 24th of July.

Narappa is an official Tamil remake of Dhanush's Asuran. Priyamani is pairing opposite Venkatesh in the revenge drama, while Brahmotsavam director Srikanth Addala directed the Venkatesh starrer.
