Once, when a film maker came out and gave a statement that their film is for audience and not critics, they used to wait till the movie became a financial success.
But today as success meets became routine for films that are flop or hit, the reviews and critics, have become easy targets.
From Jr. NTR to Allu Arjun to Harish Shankar to now, Kona Venkat and Aadhi Pinisetty, the first target to market a film that got mixed talk or poor collections has been to take on reviews.
In case of Duvvada Jagannadam and Jai Lava Kusa, the collections were good but talk was highly mixed. But Kona Venkat's new production, Neevevaro failed in both aspects.
At Thank You Meet, Kona said, "We are not targeting reviewers but we make films for audiences and not writers."
Even Aadhi said to the same affect that their films are for Popcorn entertainment and for those who analyse with a pen and paper.
Well, they promote reviews when movie gets high ratings and criticise when they get lowest possible ones. Critics and reviewers are audience too, in fact more faithful and passionate than an average cinema lover as they take it up as a job and watch every single one.
Also, one group's opinion cannot influence a film's fate. Filmmakers, if they can just respect reviews as few film passionate people opinions, may be that would also help them in analysing their films.
Anyways, they will keep using reviews in negative or positive way and we will keep giving our opinions as per our knowledge and film!
