Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya' ended up being a disappointment. The film has hit the screens amidst huge hype and expectations. The combination of Charan and Chiru was supposed to take the box office by a storm which didn't happen as the word of mouth talk is not at all encouraging for 'Acharya'. The makers have acquired special permissions from the governments of both states to increase the ticket rates.
People might have shown interest in the film if it got a positive talk but the general audience may not be keen on watching the film in theatres anymore due to the below-average reports and the huge ticket rates. Reports from trusted sources reveal that the early morning shows in both AP and Nizam areas have been canceled already due to low bookings. The situation is even worse in Karnataka as 'Acharya' was replaced by 'KGF â 2' in some areas due to low occupancy on the first day.
The team is in damage control mode right now as reports claim that they have reduced the ticket prices from the second day itself though the hike was supposed to be till the end of 5 day run. Apparently, the ticket rates came out in major parts of AP as the single screen's ticket price is reduced from 175 to 150 already. If things don't look encouraging, the makers may reduce it even more.
Produced by Matinee Entertainments banner, Chiranjeevi's wife Surekha Konidela is presenting this film. Mani Sharma is the music composer. There are a lot of noted artists in this project which takes place in a fictional village named Dharmasthali. Written and directed by Koratala Siva, Thirunavikkarasu is the cinematographer while Navin Nooli is the editor. As we know, Ram Charan is playing a special role in this flick.
