Act against Yasin Malik meeting Hafiz Saeed says BJP

BJP president Rajnath Singh Tuesday said that the government should "seriously" take cognizance of JKLF chief Yasin Malik sharing the dais with 26/11 attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan Sunday to protest Afzal Guru's hanging.

"The government should seriously take cognizance of this. It's not a small issue. I expect this much from the government," Singh told reporters here.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said it was the home ministry's mistake to allow Malik to go to Pakistan and that the BJP would raise the issue at all forums.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader was protesting the hanging of Afzal Guru, that took place Saturday, for his role in the 2001 attack on parliament.

Malik was seated next to Saeed, chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, who masterminded the Mumbai terror attacks in which 166 people were killed and over 300 were injured. Hafiz Saeed is the most wanted person in India.
