Senior Character Artist Apoorva differed with Movie Artist Association (MAA) over the boycott of Sri Reddy.
Apoorva: 'I have been in the Industry since 18 years. There were times when Industry Folks asked Me if I would join them for Dinner. Other than that, I haven't faced anything severe harassment so far. Sadly, MAA didn't address the issue raised by Sri Reddy though she kept complaining how she was exploited. Instead, The Film Body banned her citing the stripping episode on behalf of all the registered Members. I am one of the 900 Members of MAA. At least, There isn't even a single intimation from MAA and nobody bothered to seek our opinion on the matter before boycott. I came out opposing that move'.
The Character Artist claimed to have received hundreds of calls from several women in the Film Industry after she revolted against MAA. 'If Rs 4,000 was paid to a junior artist, Broker will pocket Rs 3,000 and offers just Rs 1,000 to someone who worked throughout the day. This is unfair! Though MAA hasn't come in support, Many Associations have been backing Sri Reddy Today. Why would a Girl strip on the road if no injustice took place? Government should form a committee & introduce helpline to tackle such sexual exploitation anywhere in the state. No girl should face such a situation, ' she said.
