Earlier this year, Nagarjuna's Wild Dog premiered on Netflix and garnered a pretty good response from digital audiences. Amazed with the response Wild Dog had received, Nagarjuna started contemp[lating the idea of rolling out more web content in the days to come. He is set to produce content for top OTT platforms, under his own production house, Annapurna Studios. He is even considering the idea of starring in an exclusive web-film. He is in talks with a few young filmmakers and more details about the project will be out in the days to follow.
Cut to now, Naga Chaitanya looks set to follow his father and ride the OTT wave. He is in talks for a web film and has apparently signed the dotted line already. Sharath Marrar who owns and operates Northstar Entertainments is set to produce Chaitanya's first web-film. He had already initiated talks with a couple of young filmmakers. The project will start rolling soon after Sharath finds the right director who can effectively handle the script he has in hand. Chaitanya is ready to allot dates for the project once the back-end works are completed.
A month or so ago, Samantha ventured into webspace with the sophomore season of The Family Man and garnered a good reception from web audiences. Now, it appears to be that it is Naga Chaitanya's turn to enthrall digital audiences. This project is still in the discussion stage but it might materialize in the near future.
Chaitanya is presently busy with Thank You and Laal Singh Chaddha, a Hindi film starring Aamir Khan in the lead role. He is also set to share the screen space with his father Nagarjuna in Bangarraju, the sequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana. He might start working on the web project only after he is done with his current commitments. Meanwhile, Chaitanya's next theatrical outing, Love Story is set to hit the silver screens in the third week of August. The film is directed by Sekhar Kammula and it features Sai Pallavi in the lady lead role. It will be one of the first films to release in theaters post Covid second wave.
