Don't take us wrong here. Spyder does have a huge record of 50 crores losses for distributors and that could be in trouble.
Spyder, starring Mahesh Babu and in the direction of successful director, AR Murugadoss, had a great buzz and many thought the movie will be the next big blockbuster in South Cinema after Baahubali series. But the film failed to live upto the expectations and became a disaster.
Now, Pawan Kalyan's Agnyathavasi got a huge buzz as he is coming for the first time for Sankranthi and with his trusted friend and director, Trivikram Srinivas. The movie was thought to be the next big success after Baahubali-2 in Telugu Cinema.
It did a pre-release business of 125 crores just from theatricals and the movie living upto the hype, opened for a whopping 40 crores share on first day. But the talk has been poor ever since and the collections dipped like never before and the holidays just remain for three more days.
Still, the movie has not become the first choice for audience and after two massive Sankranthi seasons, this season is said to be the dullest by trade pundits. So, the movie might end up collecting somewhere near 65 to 70 crores in full run.
If it manages to do so, the loss will be colossal 55 to 60 crores and that is the budget of another big film and three medium range film in Telugu Industry. Hence, the record of Spyder could be wiped out!
