Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao was the first Indian actor honored with a postage stamp by the U.S. Post Service . US postal service released Akkinneni Nageshwara Rao stamp at a grand ceremony that was held at Dallas.
Many of the Akkineni fans participated at the event and recalled the memories of ANR.On the occasion, a special video message by hero Nagarjuna was relayed. These stamps can be used like any other regular postal stamps for mailing purposes.
Akkineni Fans association also screened ANR's last movie Manam on the occasion. The Akkineni Foundation is also planning to release the stamp in India on December 17 at the first International Akkineni Awards Ceremony being planned at ANR College, Gudivada in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
It was a rare honor for the legendray actor and no one can desreve it more than ANR.The actor was honored with a number of awards including 3 Filmfares, Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Nandi Award, Kalaimamani.
