Since the lockdown forced the theatres to shut, the ready to release films are queuing for the direct digital release. After Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi and Amitabh Bachchan-Ayushmann Khurrana's Gulabo Sitabo, now Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb is heading towards direct OTT release ditching the traditional theatrical release.
According to the latest reports, the film will be released on Hotstar after wrapping the post-production work which will take at least a month. The report also suggests that the film has been sold to Hotstar for a whopping Rs 125 crore. This deal is said to be the biggest-ever deal in the Indian OTT history. However, the makers haven't made any official announcement on this yet, but the news is doing rounds on social media.
This news is very disappointing to Akshay's fans as the film will do above Rs 200 crore business at the box office if released in theatres. And many fans claim that Rs 120 crores are just opening week figures.
