All Set For Bheemla Nayak - Amazon Prime Deal?

Update: 2021-09-28 09:38 GMT
The other day, there were rumors that Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati's Bheemla Nayak will skip theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT. It was stated that the makers had already initiated talks with OTT platforms regarding the direct to digital release prospect of the social drama. The ongoing political rivalry between the government of Andhra Pradesh and Pawan Kalyan's Janasena, and also the ongoing restrictions on the theatrical industry in Andhra Pradesh were cited as the reason behind this move from the makers of Bheemla Nayak. Needless to say, this is a sensational speculation and if it does turn to reality, it will indeed create ripples in Tollywood.

Now, we have learnt from our well placed sources that the makers of Bheemla Nayak have indeed initiated talks with an OTT giant regarding the OTT release of the film. The makers are in touch with Amazon Prime Video as they are looking to strike a deal with the top OTT platform. However, it is unclear if the discussions are to finalze a direct to digital release, or a post theatrical release.

Yesterday, as soon as the speculations surfaced, Vamsi, the producer of Bheemla Nayak clarified that there is no truth in the direct to digital release of the Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer. He affirmed that the film will be releasing in theatres on the 12th of January. But this isn't the final prospect. It is heard that the makers are indeed open to the direct to release prospect and that is the reason why they are in talks with Amazon Prime Video. That said, releasing the film in theatres is the top priority for the makers. They will look towards the direct to OTT proposal only if the conditions are completely against the theatrical release of the film. More details about the same will be out in the days to follow.

Bheemla Nayak is the Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum and it is being directed by Saagar K Chandra. Trivikram is providing the screenplay and dialogues for the action oriented social drama. Nithya Menon and Samyuktha Menon play the female leads in the film.
