Allot Dates, Pay For Our Losses: Distributors to Superstar

Update: 2015-05-27 10:48 GMT
Distributors of 'Lingaa' issued a press release stating they are yet to receive the money promised by Rajinikanth as refund for the heafty losses incurred.

While the total loss is up to Rs 33 crore, Rajini agreed to refund 1/3rd of this amount (Rs 12.5 crore approx) to the Distributors. However, The Distributors complain they received only Rs 5.89 crore till date. Thiruppur Subrahmanyam who acted as mediator in the whole issue didn't respond when Distributors questioned him about the balance Rs 6.61 crore.

Now, 'Lingaa' Distributors demand Rajinikanth to allot call sheets for Vendhar Movies and pay for their losses with the money generated by the new project.

Rajinikanth began the trend of refund to distributors with 'Baba' which was a disaster. None of the actor's films released till 2013 have failed at the Box Office and that's the reason there were no demands of refund. With 'Lingaa' failing to live-up to the expectations, Distributors launched multiple protests demanding Rs 33 crore losses.
