Allu Aravind Blamed For 'Godfather' Drop In Collections!

Update: 2022-10-17 06:50 GMT
Apart from producing medium and big films under 'Geetha Arts' and 'GA2 Pictures' banners, veteran producer Allu Aravind is also released Tamil dubbed films in Telugu and making good money. He recently bought the dubbing rights of Dhanush's 'Naanu Varuven' for a very less rate and released it as 'Nene Vastunna'. It made decent money. Now, he recently released the highly praised Kannada film 'Kantara' in Telugu.

The movie got a good response in the Telugu market too and it has been reported that the distributors are increasing the number of theatres for this film. According to sources, the collections of 'Kantara' is higher than the money earned by Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Godfather' in the past few days. Mega fans are evidently not happy with Allu Aravind releasing 'Kantara' at a time when 'Godfather' is yet to cross the breakeven mark.

They are posting hate tweets on the veteran producer and Allu camp over not letting 'Godfather' have a free run at the box office during this second week too. A fan wrote, "Allu Aravind knew very well that GodFather was running in theaters but he still decided to release Kantara in the very corresponding weekend. This is a below-the-belt punch from Aravind."

As we know, 'Godfather' released on October 5th and got a positive talk. It had a very long first weekend and with other Dasara releases ending up as failures, it had a free run at the box office. Within the first weekend, the film grossed over 100 crores but the collections started dropping drastically and trade experts claim that it is yet to reach the safe zone. But to think that a Kannada dubbed film with an unfamiliar cast is the reason for Megastar's film not getting profits is pretty humiliating for the star hero's stature according to many.
