Allu Arjun decided to shelve Icon

Update: 2021-10-26 06:14 GMT
Allu Arjun is a busy man now. He is filming for Pushpa: The Rise which is in the final leg of the shoot and once he is done with the project, he has a handful of other biggies in the pipeline. Earlier, it was heard that Allu Arjun will be joining hands with Sriram Venu of Vakeel Saab fame for 'Icon' which was officially announced last year. The project was then put on the backburner after Allu Arjun turned busy with Pushpa: The Rise, and also lined up a film with Boyapati Sreen. However, almost incidentally enough, Icon hit the hop gear last month as Sriram Venu and Dil Raju were confident of taking the project onto the floors at the earliest and even started finalizing the principal cast and crew for the project. There were reports that the makers have even roped in Pooja Hegde for the female lead role in the film.

However, the latest reports are suggesting that Allu Arjun has decided to shelve Icon, at least for the time being. He has decided not to take the project onto the floors anytime soon. Allu Arjun plans to take the project with Boyapati Sreenu onto the floors ahead of Icon and he is planning accordingly. He has asked Geetha Arts, who will be bankrolling the project to kickstart the pre production works at the earliest so that he can take the project onto the floors soon after he is done with Pushpa: The Rise. Allu Arjun - Boyapati Sreenu project will be officially announced very soon and more details will be out correspondingly.

This is an interesting development of sorts, given the fact that Icon's script was locked and loaded already and Allu Arjun was also pretty excited about the same. It is heard that Allu Arjun decided to follow up Pushpa: The Rise with a  proper mass action entertainer and that is the reason why he pushed the Boyapati directorial ahead of Icon. He is planning his forthcoming projects meticulously and is in no mood to take any undue risks henceforth. As for Pushpa: The Rise, the film is releasing on the 17th of December.
