Amala Paul surrenders before Crime Branch

Actress Amala Paul was accused of using fake documents to avoid paying hefty tax for her luxury car. Crime Branch Police charged the 'Raghuvaran B.Tech' Actress with Sections 420, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code. These non-bailable offences could lead to a rigorous imprisonment up to seven years.

Amala Paul has sought anticipatory bail from the court to prevent her arrest. Whereas, Court ordered her to appear for questioning before seeking bail. On Monday, Amala Paul surrendered before the Crime Branch at the headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. She was dressed in a  white shirt, jeans and sunglasses. During the interrogation, The Actress seems to have confessed producing fake documents to show she is a resident of Puducherry instead of Kerala. When Mediapersons asked her to speak about the tax evasion case, She refused to say anything while leaving the headquarters.

Over 5,000 vehicles purchased from Automobile Showrooms in Kerala were registered in a fraudulent manner to evade tax. Buyers registered the vehicles in Union Territory Puducherry by creating fake documents. Automobile Showrooms have been involved in the racket which caused loss to the state-exchequer. In Kerala, As much as 20 percent tax is being levied on vehicles.

On the other hand, Malayalam Actor Suresh Gopi was arrested Today morning and released later in connection with the Tax Evasion case. These development have come as a shock to Mollywood & Kerala People.
