Amit Shah's Targets For GHMC Elections

Update: 2019-07-27 05:36 GMT
If one thought that BJP national president Amit Shah would relent after becoming the home minister, one is mistaken. This man is still after the BJP leaders from the Telugu states. Realising that the BJP has performed poorly in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he is now trying to make the leaders work to their potential.

The latest news from the BJP front is that Amit Shah has set three targets for the BJP workers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The first is to the finish off the weakest party - Congress in AP and TDP in Telangana. The BJP will take into its fold every leader who matters from these two parties. Thus a major part of the voters of these parties would move towards the BJP. Secondly, the party has been given membership targets. The party units have been asked to step up the membership drive in both the states. In Telangana alone, a target of 18 lakh membership has been set.

Thirdly and most importantly, the BJP will have to make a serious bid for the upcoming GHMC elections and local body elections. Amit Shah has asked the state BJP in Telangana to decide on the party candidates and focus on the seats where the Party has brighter chances of winning.  The BJP should win the maximum number of seats, Amit Shah told the party leaders in Telangana. They have been asked to draw up strategies to win a maximum number of seats.
