Amy Jackson is a British Supermodel and she has made a career as an actor in our South Indian films with big movies like I, Madrasapattinam, Yevadu. Like her many great beauties from other countries like Sri Lanka and Pakisthan are also trying to make a career here as actresses. They all talked about facing some kind of racism and Amy too openly shared about it.
Amy in an interview talked about her being at the receiving end of colour racism and also losing out on opportunities due to few films being flops. She said, " I won't racism is not a problem but it is everywhere and not just in Film Industry. I do face lot of criticism and racism on social media but outside people have been much more friendlier to me. I never felt any disrespect. At first, when I started struggling as a rookie to become a model in UK, I used to feel dejected about rejection. But now, I am habituated to it. If I'm not chosen for a role after audition I feel okay about it as there is no written rule that I should be getting the role."
For 2.0 with Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar, in the direction of S. Shankar, the actress had to lose many films but she said she is happy to be sharing screen with super stars in the direction of Shankar. Now, the actress is also working in Hindi film The Villain and an English film Boogieman. She expressed that if you are working in South films you can get typecast and Bollywood is much better in that regards.
