People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) has been demanding for ban on Jallikattu and it managed to gain support of top film and cricket stars Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shilpa Shetty, Kapil Sharma, Vidya Balan, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan etc.

Now the tweet of Amy created an uproar. A political outfit called Tamil Munnetra Padai protested against Amy for voicing against Jallikattu. They burnt an effigy of the actor and demanded the removal of the actor from the upcoming Rajinikanth-Shankr film Endhiran 2(Robo 2.0). The political outfit also demanded to ban Amy from Tamil films permanently.
