Bringing two of the leading Superstars for a film is a huge task and India's biggest director SS Rajamouli took the task on his shoulders. The magnum opus RRR is the byproduct of the task and hard work. The much-awaited multi starrer starring Junior NTR and Ram Charan is awaiting release.
RRR got the much-needed hype and buzz since its inception as two powerhouses NTR and Ram Charan sharing the screen space. The heroes will be seen as Komaram Bheem(NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju(Ram Charan) respectively. However, the film also gets to face a few controversies as well.
Joining the list of controversies related to RRR another one popped out. CPI Leader Ramakrishna had lashed out at the makers alleging that they are distorting the history. He found fault with the way Alluri Sitarama Raju's character was designed.
The communist leader asked, how can the makers show Alluri as a police officer working with the British when he had fought against them in real life. He is a true patriot who sacrificed his life for the motherland. But the makers are showing something else, Ramakrishna said as per the reports.
Calling Rajamouli a great director, the Communist leader wondered how such a filmmaker can do such a mistake with the wrong portrayal of Alluri he said.
He went on to say that they will stage a protest outside the sensor board offices against the film. He demanded that the film should be shown to the family members of respective revolutionaries and only after they say ok, the film should be released.
The controversies have started with a few questions raising on how the makers can make a film on two people who belong to different timelines. Mentioning that Alluri died in 1924 and Komaram Bheem died in 1940, a few people have raised their objections.
A petition was filed in Telangana High Court against the film seeking directives to stop the film release. In the petition, the petitioner said that the film is allegedly showing the history in the wrong way.
As the biggest controversy, the teaser from RRR makers introducing NTR as Komaram Bheem did not go well with many. The BJP had found fault with NTR wearing a Muslim cap when Bheem fought against the Nizam king.
