While Ranbir plays the role of Ayan in the movie, Anushka is seen as Muslim girl Alizeh. For a scene where she needs to slap Ranbir, Anushka did the rehearsal twice and slapped him in the takes couple of times for real. Irritated Ranbir immediately stated that it's hurting him.
Only after Anushka tendered an apology, Ranbir continued the shoot. In the recently released making video of the film, producer-director Karan Johar included this fiasco as well.
