Actor-turned-politician, Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna who often attracts troubles with his comments had done it yet again. This time, he has hit the headlines by talking about key issues in Telugu States.
Sharing details about his upcoming film Akhanda, Balayya Babu said shooting will be wrapped up soon. We haven't decided yet on whether or not to release the movie for Dussehra.
Talking about the G.O issued by the Andhra Pradesh government which says the government will fix the ticket fares for the films, Balakrishna said such orders will not help the industry survive.
From my side I am doing what I can in this regard. Theatres and industry cannot sustain if the ticket rates are so less. Telangana government made its stand clear on this issue, but the AP Government is in confusion he said
Elaborating on how the small producers will face issues, Balakrishna said, the new GO will increase the problems of producers with less ticket fares. Big heroes films will have relatively less issues as the public wants to see their films in theatres.
It is known that the Andhra Pradesh government had issued a GO on the ticket fares saying that the government will fix the ticket prices when a film gets released.
Balakrishna added that the prevailing situations and the GO issued by the government on ticket rates are forcing the producers to release the movies in OTTs.
Industry people are unable to understand the GO and the conditions mentioned in the order are also quite unusual. These conditions will not help the industry in any manner, he added
When asked about the MAA Elections, Balakrishna said he doesn't want to talk about the issue. However, he shot a straight question to the bigwigs in the industry on why they were unable to construct a building for the MAA Association.
The bigwigs share good relations with the Telangana government. But despite this, they failed to get land from the government for MAA Building he opined.
He recalled how his late father NTR had built Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam in 1986 to conduct the International Film Festival when everyone thought having an open air auditorium was impossible.
