Are Directors Losing Credibility With One Film?

Update: 2019-09-12 08:14 GMT
SS Rajamouli did make a flop and everyone of his films have been able recover the cost. Magadheera, Eega, Baahubali have put him on another pedestal.

Trivikram Srinivas is still criticised by Pawan Kalyan fans for Agnyathavasi but he showed that he can make a hit film with Aravinda Sametha, starring Jr. NTR. Now, he is trying another Sankranthi family entertainer with ensemble cast along with Allu Arjun. He needs this to work as well, for Industry to think Agnyathavasi was a rare mistake from him.

Puri Jagannath after losing trust of all heroes made a comeback with Ram Pothineni and Ismart Shankar music has been the flavor of the season. Industry still needs him to get his early consistency back as he made rare hits and regular flops. Audiences did not lose trust on him, yet.

Other than them, all directors from TFI - young and established are facing big challenge in maintaining credibility. Koratala Siva still has to make a flop or a weak film.

VV Vinayak made Akhil and Inttelligent, two out and out rank bad movies. The bad image of those two could not be erased by good image from hit Khaidi No.150.

Boyapati Srinu is the most trolled director of TFI and with Vinaya Vidheya Rama flop, he is facing hard time to even convince Balakrishna, with whom he made two big hits.

Vinayak is looking at acting next and he could be doing a film as main lead soon. Tharun Bhasscer is already into acting and other young directors are trying to become screenplay writers or producers if a flop hits their front door.

K. Raghavendra Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao, Kodandarami Reddy, Kodi Ramakrishna who were major commercial directors of 80's never faced issues of having no films in hand with one or two flops as stars used to back them.

Today, even after a hit, directors are finding it difficult to make another film and if you deliver a flop, then you can call it quits!
