Prabhas has arrived with 'Radhe Shyam' on 11th March and it got mixed response from the critics and audience alike.
People were not ready for a complete love story with no commercial elements according to experts. The talk is slowly improving now compared to the first day and sources reveal that the film grossed over 150 crores in the first weekend.
While the visuals are fantastic and the music complemented the film's plot, there was one complaint about 'Radhe Shyam' which everyone agrees to. It is the selection of the cast members.
This film is a romantic drama that revolves around love and destiny. Hero Prabhas and heroine Pooja Hegde are the main leads in the film and they occupy the screen all the time. The story revolves around them and the other characters are not that important barring a few.
Any artist would have suited those roles but the makers went in for huge names across the country. Murali Sharma who is used for crucial roles is given a role that was barely present on the screen.
The same goes for veteran actress Bhagyasree and Bollywood actor Kunal Roy Kapoor. Jagapathi Babu too had a very minor which did not have any impact and Sathyan who was seen as his assistant had no scope to perform. The same goes for artists like Priyadarshi and Sasha Chetri who played the roles of heroine friends.
The only actors whose roles were significant were Sachin Kadekar and Krishnam Raju. They did complete justice to their roles but the rest of them were completely wasted.
Some say that the makers edited out a few scenes which took away the importance of those roles. Also, bringing big names from various industries and giving them tiny roles is not going to help the film. The same thing happened with 'Saaho'. Looks like 'UV Creations' did not learn the lesson even now.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, this epic love drama has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead named Prerna. Prabhas will be seen as a world-renowned palmist in this movie.
This movie is produced under UV Creations, Gopi Krishna Arts and T-Series banners. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor for 'Radhe Shyam'. Justin Prabhakaran is the music composer for South Indian languages.
