No virus can stop the speed of Akshay Kumar as the Bollywood superstar is completing films at a rapid pace and releasing them at jet speed. Last year, he came with 'Laxmmi Bomb' and released 'Bell Bottom' in theatres. His last release was 'Sooryavanshi' which was a huge hit. It was the first big release from Bollywood and it set the cash registers ringing after a long time. He played a special role in Dhanush's Hindi film 'Atrangi Re'. Now, he is all set to arrive with 'Bachchhan Paandey' on March 18th.
This action-thriller is an official remake of the Tamil film 'Jigarthanda' (remade as 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh' in Telugu) directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The Hindi version had a lot of changes compared to the original. The trailer shows that they have taken the basic plot and made it in a way that appeals to the North audience. Kriti Sanon plays the role of an aspiring director who is eager to make a film on a ruthless gangster like 'Bachchhan Pandey'. She is helped by her friend who wants to play the role of the second hero. This part is played by talented senior actor Arshad Warsi. Voluptuous beauty Jacqueline Fernandes will be seen as the lover of 'Bachchhan Paandey' who dies in the flashback.
Kriti Sano got a meaty role and she pulled it off with ease. It is good to see her taking up such interesting roles and Arshad Warsi tickles your funny bones. The gang of 'Bachchhan Paandey' are hilarious too. But the film is going to be dominated by Akshay Kumar and it is clearly visible in the trailer. Starting from his looks to acting, he aced the role and stole the show. He is looking terrifying and is seen doing some gory acting sequences too. He even delivered some funny punch lines which are sure to bring the house down.
Directed by Farhad Samji, this film is grander, grittier and funnier than the Telugu and Tamil versions. They made this film on a grand scale and Sajid Nadiadwala spent a lot which is quite evident. The trailer is surely impressive but it gave away most of the story and we need to see if 'Bachchhan Pandey' becomes successful at the box office as expected or not.
