Rajamouli's Father and Scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad openly declares Chiru's film 'Pasivadi Pranam' is the inspiration behind Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'.

Vijayendra Prasad: "About 8-9 years ago, Me and My Assistants were watching 'Pasivadi Pranam' on TV. I like this film of Chiranjeevi garu very much and get emtional in every viewing. When I'm discussing with my assistants on whether we could create a new script by working-out on bonding between a Hero & Kid who can't speak, Keeravani's Brother Kanche suggested if hero goes to Pakistan to solve a problem then it would be nice. One of my Assistants (Mahadev) suggested to make hero a devotee of Hanuman to make the proceedings more exciting. Few years later, A Pakistan couple reached Chennai for the heart operation of their child. Upon knowing the financial situation of poor couple, Hospital has performed the surgery free of cost. Then Pak couple thanked Indians for the kind gesture. 70 years ago, India & Pak are just one Nation. Just because bifurcation happened, Do we need to fight? All these factors inspired me to develop a subject like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'".

Prior to the release, Salman Khan called Vijayendra Prasad only to say - "Sir, You are the real hero of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'". It's really a very good gesture!
