Sai Pallavi is currently promoting her upcoming release 'Virataparvam' quite aggressively. The complete story revolves around her character and the movie is set in the backdrop of Naxalism. After an impressive trailer, the movie is hitting the screens on 17th June and Rana will be seen as Naxalite leader Ravanna.

The censor formalities have been completed and the movie is ready for release but Bajrang Dal is now trying to create problems for 'Virataparvam'. Apparently, this Hindu organization has a problem with the makers using the name of a chapter from epic mythology Mahabharatha and using it as their title. They claim that using 'Virataparvam' for a movie with a Naxalism backdrop is going to hurt their religious sentiments.

In a recent interview, she compared the 'Kashmir Files' which showed the atrocities done by Muslims on Kashmiri Pundits to the Muslims attacked under the assumption of cow slaughtering which is becoming a controversy now. Bajrang Dal convenor Sivaramulu said that they wrote a letter to the censor board warning them that they will be stopping the shows if their religious sentiments get hurt by the movie.

Sai Pallavi plays the role of Vennela who is a big admirer of Ravanna's poetry. The film also has an amazing star cast comprising Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao, Sai Chand, Benarji, Nagineedu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad and others.Dani Sanchez Lopez is the cinematographer along with Divakar Mani. Suresh Bobbili scored the music and Raju Sundaram is the choreographer while Stephen Richard along with Peter Hein composed the fights.
