Bombay HC Grants Interim Protection To Kangana & Her Sister

Update: 2020-11-24 12:40 GMT
Bollywood firebrand Kangana Ranaut and Mumbai Police's cold war does not seem to be over now. On Monday, both the sisters moved the Bombay High Court seeking to cancel the First Information Report (FIR) registered against them over allegations of passing objectionable statements on social media.

The Mumbai police summoned the actress for the third time to appear for questioning on November 23 and 24 respectively. However, both the sisters did not appear before the police and said through their lawyer that they were occupied with their brother's marriage in Himachal Pradesh till November 15.

The court has now asked the Kangana sisters to appear before the police on January 8, 2021, between 12 pm and 2 pm. The court also granted interim protection to them both from arrest. The case was heard by a two-judge bench of justices Shinde and M S Karnik. They posted the plea for further hearing on January 11.
