Can Karan Johar Give Baahubali Type Hits To Bollywood?

Now, everyone among Trade Pundits of Hindi cinema, is thinking the same thing - Can someone make Pan-Indian hit like Baahubali from Hindi Cinema?

Aditya Chopra after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge could not repeat same success with his next two films. Karan Johar debuted with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham became Pan-India successes.

Shah Rukh Khan became Bollywood's biggest star with those two films and DDLJ, as he found acceptance in Karnataka, Kerala and Telugu States with good number of fans in Tamil Nadu, while Delhi, Mumbai, UP, Bihar, Bengal, North Eastern States, Punjab markets accepted him from Deewana, Baazigar, Darr time.

Gujarat, Rajasthan, Saurasthra, Madhya Pradesh slowly became his strong holds too. Today, he is not in a position to deliver such Pan-India hit as his previous films after Chennai Express to Zero, have been either average or flops.

Salman Khan's appeal isn't that great in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and even in Gujarat he isn't the most preferred while his market is strong in Bihar, Rajasthan, East Punjab, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Nizam and good in Delhi.

Aamir Khan never was in the stardom race and his films depend on content. Thugs of Hindosthan is a proof of that. Hrithik Roshan seemed to grow big with Krrish franchise and Dhoom 2 but his appeal, is limited, today.

His next War is getting massive release but in South India, it won't be able to beat Sye Raa, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, in North India, Sye Raa can't beat War.

So, at this point, filmmakers like Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra have to take up the mantle of direction and try to find their early form, think many.

KJO has Takht with Ranveer Singh, Jhanvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt as director, but he failed as a producer with Kalank. Aditya Chopra announced Samshera as producer and KJO has Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor as a producer.

These are potential Pan-Indian films attempted by YRF and Dharma Productions as biggest studios in India. Can they repeat the success of Baahubali and keep Hindi Cinema as the easy Pan-Indian market for long? Can they circumcise the rise of South Indian Cinema?
