The Covid pandemic left a devastating impact on the Tollywood film industry. Several films have halted the releases while a few opted for the OTT release. The back-to-back waves of the pandemic had brought a lot of losses for the industries. As if that was not enough, the Andhra Pradesh government had brought a Go to regulate ticket prices.
As a major effort, a team of Tollywood members led by Megastar Chiranjeevi met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to sort out the issues. The Tollywood members have placed their concerns before the Chief Minister and sought the government's help for the industry.
It is said that, during the meeting, CM Jagan told the Tollywood delegation that the big movies will get special support and high-ticket movies will be spared from the ticket prices regulation issue.
With the high-ticket film coming from Tollywood in the form of Radhe Shyam all eyes are on the film to see if the film will get a helping hand from the government or not. In a few days, the Prabhas starrer will hit the theatres.
Radhe Shyam is made on a big scale with a heavy budget. Releasing on a Pan-India scale, Radhe Shyam is carrying high expectations. If the film gets stuck with the G, then it will surely lose a portion of the collection like how it happened with Bheemla Nayak.
Many theatres have canceled the shows unable to run the business and the collections were restricted in AP with the GO. If not the GO, then the collections of Bheemla Nayak would be very high.
Will Radhe Shyam become another Bheemla Nayak in Andhra Pradesh or will it get support from the government? We will get an answer to this in a few days. Prabhas was one of the members of Tollywood who met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to discuss the issues.
After the meeting, Prabhas thanked Chiranjeevi for taking the initiative. He also thanked CM Jagan for giving the delegation time to tell their issues. Prabhas said that the meeting gave confidence that the issue will be sorted out. We have to wait and see if his confidence translates to help from the government or not.
