Can Telugu Filmmakers Make Better Small Budget Films?!

Update: 2019-09-07 07:20 GMT
We are a staunch supporter of Telugu Cinema and we are expressing our deep concern but not trying to demean any person's efforts. Please consider our observations as a realistic look at the obvious failures than rantings and ramblings.

This week 6 films have released at box office - Jodi, 2 Hours Love, Nee Kosame, Darpanam, Undiporade, Taramani. None of them got good reviews and people don't know about their release.

Sad reality is that several websites, including us, try to watch each one of them and share reviews in English, Telugu only when we feel that they deserve all our effort and attention.

We admit that we go by the popular demand and we give more importance to movies that seem to drive more attention. Why not?

If a filmmaker is not working towards getting attention of public by any means, if a filmmaker is making it difficult for himself or herself to showcase it to a crowd, why would any critic or reviewer look forward to spend their time talking about it?

Won't it just end up being another rant on a small film? Won't it look inhumane? Hence, we look to measure the reach of a film before giving reviews out. We may not be ideal but we are trying to be essentially relevant in already crowded online entertainment news portals business.

All we request filmmakers is a good enough campaign that maximises or at least finds a reach for their film, like RGV. No budget campaign through social media will also help us get a good word about the film, if it deserves.

Today, with so many avenues available, if we cannot find ways to improve our reach and find audiences, small films will have absolutely no one else to blame but themselves.

Our request is to every youngster, please concentrate on the making values, story and script development, seek knowledge and help from elderly and try to reach out creatively through no budget advertising campaigns (we can always be a help - if needed) and most importantly please see that the quality of films are good that a positive word can be spread as the number of films that seem to deserve a word of appreciation at least for effort are diminishing with each day!
