The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing the triple murders of deputy superintendent of police Zia-ul-Haq, a village pradhan and his brother at a Kunda village in Pratapgarh Saturday arrested the son of the slain pradhan.
Babloo, 20, is the son of pradhan Nanhe Yadav, who was killed with his brother Suresh March 2.
CBI sources told IANS that they were close to cracking the case and that Babloo was the prime accused for the murder of Zia-ul-Haq.
The sources said that Babloo shot dead Zia-ul-Haq after his father was killed by two youth on a motorcycle while he was standing at a tea stall.
Babloo was absconding after the murders. This is the third arrest made by the CBI.
The other two arrested are Ajay and Vijay of Balipur village in Kunda, where the incident took place.
Police also recovered the missing mobile phone of Zia-ul-Haq.
