Rashmika Mandana is very impressive & her cute performance is endearing to watch. Naresh in the role of Hero's Father tickles the funny bone. Achyut Kumar and Mime Gopi does really well. Vennela Kishore takes the responsibility of providing ample entertainment in the second half. Satya is simply superb. Even Sudhakar and Viva Harsha does a fine job in comedy department.
Pros:
Lead Pair
Music
Entertainment
Cons:
Flashback
Climax
Technicalities:
Music composed by Mahati Sagar is pretty good. 'Chusi Chudangane' song will be immensely loved by music lovers & even its picturization is wonderful. Background Score is alright. Camera Work by Sai Sriram is an asset to 'Chalo'. Production Values are rich. Debutante Director Venky Kudumula has narrated the subject in an appealing manner. Despite few flaws, He is able to offer a different experience altogether to the viewers right from the beginning. Especially, The kind of command he have on humour will take him to new heights. He made good use of the acting capabilities of the cast. On the flip side, Second Half should have been handled in a much better manner.
Analysis:
'Chalo' is one of those films you hardly care about the logic because of the ample entertainment. There is no dearth for hilarious jokes in this movie. That's what makes the audience ignore the minor flaws. Credit should go to debutante Venky Kudumula for doing magic with comedy episodes. Though the momentum keeps dropping at times during the second half, Humour which lasts for almost 45 minutes makes a huge difference. It's not an exaggeration that such a comedy entertainer wasn't seen in the recent past.
Generating Good Humour has become a huge challenge for filmmakers off late due to Comedy Shows like Jabardasth and Youtube Channels. With 'Chalo', Venky Kudumula showed the kind of grip he have on comedy. After all, He is a product of Trivikram Srinivas.
Conflict between Andhra and Tamil Nadu People at the border has been chosen as a core point. To make it even more interesting, Hero falls in love with the Daughter of a village head of the Opposite Camp. Though the concept looks good, Keeping the audience engaged throughout the movie is gonna be a challenge. Here, The Filmmaker showed his expertise by taking a bit of liberty to ensure most of scenes are entertaining.
In the First Half, Scenes in the college and village are a major attraction. Satya has done a career-best role. His comic timing is outstanding in the movie. Sudarshan and Viva Harsha have been too good in their respective roles. Even the romantic track of Lead Role is worth watching. Second Half begins on an entertaining note but the pace dips after a point. Attempt to add depth to the Love Track has failed. It's then Vennela Kishore becomes a saviour. He elevates the movie to the next level with his valuable contribution.
Climax is the biggest setback of 'Chalo'. The film ends on a silly note, against all the expectations. Director hasn't succeeded in utilizing the conflict between people of two states. Overall, This Naga Shourya and Rashmika-starrer is a go to film this weekend.
Bottom Line: Rib-Tickling Entertainer!
