Sunny's Condom Ad, Sales up by 35 Percent!

A Pharma Major's Condom Ad featuring Sunny Leone didn't go down well with the Traders & Pro-Hindi Outfits in Gujarat. The commercial conveys the message, 'Aa Navratri E Ramo, Parantu Prem Thi' (This Navratri Go Play, But With Love'.

RSS-affiliated Doctors body Gujarat National Medico Organisation (GNMO) appealed its 7,000 Members in Gujarat to stop prescribing any drugs manufactures by that Pharma Company. This decision was taken on grounds that the Pharma Major hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

Another Pro-Hindu Doctors Body appealed Indian Medical Council to intervene and take necessary action against the Company. Interestingly, Even the controversy is helping the Pharma Company in a big way.

Gujarat State Federation of Chemists and Druggists Association (GSFCDA) study revealed sale of Condoms and Contraceptives rise during the Navratri season. In 2017, The sales have gone up by 35 percent.

Demand for Condoms is such high that even Paan Shop Owners keep stock of them for selling. Not a surprise, Condom Manufacturers are the biggest gainers in the festive period.
