Kangana Ranaut is in all sorts of trouble with her independence comments row. From normal people to politicians and activists everyone is finding fault with the actress over the issue and demanding action against the ‘Thalaivi' actress. The list of parties fighting for action against her is growing with each day passing.

The opposition party Congress condemned the statements made by Kangana Ranaut and batted for the demand to withdraw the Padma Shri award presented to her. The grand-old party said the actress had disrespected the country and the heroes. The Congress party alleged that Kangana's comments have insulted the freedom fighters.

Congress leader Anand Sharma took to Twitter to urge the Honorable President to withdraw Kangana Ranaut's Padma Shri award as she doesn't deserve the prestigious award. Tagging President Ramnath Kovind, he called for a mental psychological evaluation exercise for people before giving them such awards.

"Hon'ble @rashtrapatibhvn should immediately take back the Padma award given to Ms Ranaut. Psychiatric evaluation should be carried out before giving such awards so that such persons do not dishonour the nation and its heroes," the Congress party leader said in a tweet.

Kangana Ranaut's controversial statements saying that India received independence in 2014 had created an uproar and BJP MP Varun Gandhi breathed fire on the actress and accused her of disrespecting the freedom fighters and lakhs others who took part in the freedom struggle.
