Dancing skills of an actor are much important in Tollywood. Some fans come to the theaters only to watch their favourite hero's dance onscreen. From star heroes to budding actors, they take extra care and try new dance steps only to impress the audience. On this note, Dance master Shobi is claiming that Tollywood is better than Kollywood in gaining recognition as a choreographer. He is a veteran choreographer and has been working with star heroes in both Telugu as well as Tamil languages. He was born and brought up in Chennai.
Shobi is stating that Telugu Industry is familiar for him from his childhood and it is easy for him to make the lead pair dance amidst hundreds of group dancers in the commercial movies. He claims that it would be difficult if there are only hero and heroine and are shooting for a romantic song. "Tamil heroes usually prefer to look like a neighborhood boy. So, the dance masters won't have much freedom. But in Tollywood, the heroes can have rocking steps and the freedom of a dance master will be more in Telugu movies." Shobi shared his opinion.
Currently, Shobi is working in Pawan's much-awaited 25th movie, RamCharan -Sukumar combination Rangasthalam 1985, Naga Chaitanya and Mahesh Babu's upcoming films. Shobi added that he rejected the offers he got to star in a movie and is planning to make a directorial debut with a bilingual movie in Telugu and Tamil languages soon.
