Veteran Filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao breathed his last while undergoing treatment in KIMS Hospital on Tuesday evening. He passed away at the age of 75.
In January 2017, Dasari fell seriously ill. Doctors had performed a surgery and discharged him two months later. Four days ago, His condition deteriorated due to infection and never showed signs of recovery even after another surgery.
Dasari was born on May 4th in 1924 to Sairaj and Mahalakshmi. 'Thatha Manavadu' marked his debut as director. He delivered several blockbusters with NTR & ANR. He is one of the very few directors who has given equal importance to star-studded movies and low-budget projects. In a career spanning over 5 decades, He wielded megaphone for a record number (151) of feature films and produced 53 movies. He left a mark of his own as Director, Actor, Script Writer, Dialogue Writer, Lyricist and Producer.
In 2011, Dasari's Wife Padma passed away. He is survived by his Daughter, Two Sons (Prabhu, Arun Kumar) and Grandchildren.
