One of the latest releases that got immersed into neck-deep controversies but finally made its way to the theatres is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat. Even before the release of the film, a group of people started protesting against it claiming that the film insulted Rajputs and also Queen Padmavati. After getting delayed for so many weeks, Supreme Court finally allowed the movie to hit the theaters on January 25th.

Now, the entire cast and crew are extremely happy as the film is running successfully in theatres. But recently a news against the spelling went viral on social media. It is a known fact that Rani Padmavati commits Jauhar. Though Deepika stunned the audience with her performance in  that scene where she embraces the fire with a smile on her face has been receiving critical acclaim. As the scene is one of the highlights of the film, it became a bait for the trollers. Some feminists are making comments that the film is endorsing Jauhar and Sati traditions.

However, Deepika has broke the silence about this issue and stated that Padmavati is a real story and they are not at all endorsing Jauhar. She added that people should keep in mind the context and period it happened in. It seems like the haters are intentionally doing this because how can a modern girl like Deepika encourages such obsolete traditions
