Nizam is an important area for our Telugu film distribution. Most percentage of the revenues come from this area and several heroes look to take the area's rights as a remuneration too. But these days, two major distributors, who are also producers have taken over the entire distribution model and they are playing a monopoly of sorts it seems.
Both Dil Raju and Asian Films, are the biggest and only known distributors in the area. All the other major players had to move into a different business opportunity to survive the biggies. As they own the theatres and also took many under lease, they have taken over the distribution system and divided the market as per monthly basis. So any film, whoever might be the actor should release through them and producers even though of they expect even higher prices, they have to take what they offer and give up their Nizam rights.
Otherwise, they have distribute on their own and they can't do that under any circumstances. Even if someone decides to go with own distribution, the theatres are again in the hands of these two mega distributors and hence, they have to go back to them and agree to their terms and conditions. This is the kind of monopoly run by these two producers in the Nizam area as per the sources from the Industry.
